Successful implementation hinges on widespread understanding of the strategy. As a result, you must ensure that your strategy is clearly communicated to all employees. This communication must not be a onetime, front-end exercise; it must be an ongoing activity that is an essential component of your implementation effort.
When strategies propose major changes, leaders must be prepared for resistance. People resist change for a variety of reasons, some rational and some emotional. Often, comfort with the status quo causes many people to feel threatened by any substantial change. For some, though, resistance might be rooted in the realization that they may not benefit personally from the proposed changes.
