COACHING TIPS FOR COACH/TRAINER
More than 1,000 employees interviewed netted the following advice for leaders. The employees were giving advice on how to encourage the best performance from workers. That advice included the following:
Leaders should believe in themselves and in their message.
Ask employees how to make it work.
Lovingly shout, ''No, no! Wrong direction!'' Don't expect employees to know if you haven't told them.
Set the example.
Act as if you care.
Direct and focus the energy in the same direction simultaneously.
Deal with the people who aren't doing the job.
Don't give employees inconsistent messages.
Ask employees what is going wrong. Stick around and listen to the answers.
Take responsibility for failure.
Give employees the big picture. ...
