36. SPLIT IMAGE DOUBLE EXPOSURE FILTER

THIS IS AN easy method for creating double exposures in your camera in a way that prevents each half of the image from being washed out. Effectively, this method masks half of the frame during each of the exposures to allow the subject to be fully exposed over a “black” exposure.

I like this approach more than the traditional double exposure, because I’m able to produce images with more contrast. You can use this technique to photograph people in the studio or scenes outdoors.
