46. BACKGROUNDS: PVC WALL OF LIGHT
THIS PROJECT CREATES a frame that you can fill with light to produce a high-key look to your photography. Using PVC pipe and bed sheets, you’ll form a mattress-sized frame, put fitted sheets over the frame, place lights inside the sheets. Voilà! A big, bright backdrop! You can also use this setup as a large, free-standing softbox.
A commercially available product like this costs between $450 and $750 depending on size. This DIY project will cost about $25 to $40 depending on how many of the parts you already own.
