50. PVC CLAMSHELL LIGHTING STUDIO
CLAMSHELL LIGHTING IS one of the go-to lighting styles for portrait photographers. It’s dynamic, bold, and beautiful. Clamshell lighting fills in shadows above and below the subject. I love clamshell lighting and have been using this technique for years.
Most clamshell lighting setups involve two umbrellas or two softboxes; one positioned above the subject and the other positioned below the subject. This project uses a PVC frame covered with a white translucent material. The light comes from two speedlights, but you can use any light source for a similar effect.
