I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Why Don’t I Appear in the Picture?
This is a very common question. Many light-painting compositions require that you move directly through the shot, in full view of the camera. As photographers, we’re not accustomed to being in front of the camera during an exposure—our place is behind the camera! To create your light-painting masterpiece, however, you’ll need to spend some out in front. If your technique is good, you’ll never appear in the final photograph. Here are a few tips to keep you invisible:
1. Wear darker clothing. No need put on the full ninja outfit, but don’t wear white, either. White is very reflective and any stray light may turn you into a ghost. Darker coats or shirts will be fine. Ditch the khaki pants for a pair of dark jeans. ...
