I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Camera
One of the coolest things about this type of photography is that you need very little special gear. No special lenses, tripods, or tripod heads. You will, however, need a camera that can be set to “Bulb.” This setting allows the shutter to stay open for as long as you depress the shutter button. Depending on the ambient light in the scene, most of your exposures will be measured in minutes rather than seconds or fractions of seconds. For this reason you need this special shutter speed called Bulb. On some cameras, the bulb setting is the last shutter setting after 30 seconds (30”).
