Screw-up#17The Vendor Didn't Deliver
In the movie Jurassic Park,1 the founder of the park, John Hammond (played by Richard Attenborough) is talking with Dennis Nedry (played by Wayne Knight) about the security system that Nedry developed for the park. In the dialogue, Hammond and Nedry are arguing about Nedry's work and the financials of the contract. The dialogue goes something like this:
NEDRY: I am totally unappreciated in my time. We can run the whole park from this room, with minimal staff, for up to three days. You think that kind of automation is easy? Or cheap? You know anybody who can network eight Connection Machines and de-bug two million lines of code for what I bid this job? Because I'd sure as hell like to see them try.
