Abstract
When utilizing biomass as fuel, the high moisture content of the biomass affects strongly the combustion process such as lowering the flame temperature and/or the boiler efficiency. The low flame temperature could result incomplete combustion and/or other operational problems. To overcome these, biomass is often dried before combustion.
