I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
The People
When a company buys a computer, whether it's a desktop computer or a huge mainframe computer that fills an entire room, it must consider the cost of the people who will be a part of the computer information system. There will be costs associated with training, programming, and using the computer. There will have to be backup personnel trained to take over the computer chores if someone else leaves. And as with software, the cost of personnel does not quit; it is an ongoing process. Often, a computer information system can save a company money in efficiency and processing power, but the company may have to hire additional staff, and people are expensive.
