is the non-parametric alternative to one-way ANOVA. There may be
cases where a researcher is not clear about the shape of the population. In this situation, the Kruskal–
Wallis test is a non-parametric alternative to one-way ANOVA. One-way ANOVA is based on the
assumptions of normality, independent groups, and equal population variance. In order to perform
one-way ANOVA, it is essential that data is atleast interval scaled. On the other hand, Kruskal–
Wallis test can be performed on ordinal data and is not based on the normality assumption of the
