selected. Finally, 4 households from each district may be randomly selected. Thus, a researcher
will obtain the required 200 urban households in two stages.
Though this type of sampling may be costly, it will be a true representative of the entire
population. The number of stages in multi-stage sampling, is a matter of the researcher’s dis-
