Product API

Next we work on the product API project:

1. Add a new Spring profile, docker in the application.yml by appending the following contents to the existing file:

spring: 
  profiles: docker 
eureka: 
  instance: 
    preferIpAddress: true 
  client: 
    serviceUrl: 
      defaultZone: http://eureka:8761/eureka/ 

2. Build the Spring Boot JAR to reflect changes to application.yml:

mvn clean package 

3. Add a .dockerignore file with the following contents:

.* 
target/* 
!target/product-*.jar 

4. Add a Dockerfile with the following contents:

FROM openjdk:8-jdk-alpine 
 
RUN mkdir -p /app 
 
ADD target/product-0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar /app/app.jar 
 
EXPOSE 8080 
 
ENTRYPOINT [ "/usr/bin/java", "-jar", "/app/app.jar", "--spring.profiles.active=docker" ] 

5. Build the Docker container: ...
