It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Transformation of a monolithic application to a distributed application
In this section, we will take a monolithic application and see what steps are required for it to be architected into a distributed application.
We are assuming a typical Java application running on an application server, scaled through a clustering model and using a typical RDBMS. The application is already in production and needs to be refactored/migrated to a distributed architecture.
We will talk about multiple parallel tracks that need to work together to refactor/roll out the distributed application. We will cover individual tracks initially and then see them all come together. In your organization, you might choose to have separate teams for each track or one team ...
