So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Begun in 1964 by Fairchild Semiconductor with the introduction of the first
monolithic
op amp, today the number of U.S. dedicated op amp manufacturers is around 12, but
the analog IC business that they and others from around the world generate is worth
$ billions. In the United States, only a few of the original pioneers remain or are still
making op amps. The insatiable global PC market, together with the cell phone, digi-
tal camera, music Pod, DVD player, and high-definition TV markets, will help fuel the
analog industry for many years to come.
