I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Software inventory
The Software Inventory setting is enabled by default, the same as Hardware Inventory. The ConfigMgr client searches machine disks or catalogs looking for files following a pattern, which needs to be specified manually. This is the difference between hardware and software inventory. Of course, the same as for Hardware Inventory, you need to specify a scanning schedule. The Inventory these files types option is used to specify which files/file, and where, the ConfigMgr client will search:
