5.1.1 devopsに関係があるのは開発者とシステム管理者だけだ
devopsという言葉はdevelopment（またはdeveloper）とoperationsの合成語だが、これは厳密な定義というわけではない。devops運動がそこから始まったというだけのことだ。DevOpsDaysカンファレンスのキャッチフレーズは「開発と運用をひとつにするカンファレンス」だ。だが、devopsの概念とアイデアには、組織内のすべての職能が含まれている。devopsに参加する個人やチームをどのように決めどう巻き込めばよいか、決定版のやり方はない。誰もが使える「devopsをやる」方法はないのだ。
開発チームと運用チームがコミュニケーションを改善し効率よく共同作業するというアイデアは、企業のどこでも役立てられる。最も効果的にdevopsを活用するには、組織内のすべてのチームを考慮に入れる必要がある。セキュリティ、品質保証、サポート、法務などすべてだ。たとえば、法務と営業で効果的なdevopsプロセスができたとしたら、矛盾のない販売カタログから契約書を自動生成できるようになるだろう。 ...
