It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Prometheus local storage
Local storage is the standard approach for storing data in Prometheus and, as such, we must understand its basics. At a very high level, Prometheus storage design is a combination of an index implementation using posting lists for all currently stored labels with their values, and its own time series data format.
