If, like Aristotle, you have a strong away-from motivation you

are likely to continue with your role because of what may

happen if you don’t – you’ll miss your targets, lose your job,

won’t be able to feed the family and so on. You would avoid

difficult clients and situations if you could but you will probably

persevere out of concern for what might happen if you don’t.

This may be good for your organisation but makes life tough
