Due to bitter bickering over vacation schedules at Burns and Company, a supervisor threw up her hands in exasperation and told her direct reports that this year she was just going to assign vacations. When she called the members of her team together around the conference table to announce her decisions, they were all anxious. They immediately turned full-body toward her, breathlessly awaiting their holiday fate.
“Kelsey, you have December 15 through January 1.”
