When You’re Late to Work
Getting out of bed early in the morning Monday through Friday sucks, but you don’t dare hit snooze one more time or it could spell disaster. It’s hell pulling your head off the pillow; pointing your nose toward the bathroom, then the closet, then the kitchen; and finally starting your commute. But, ahh, sometimes you just can’t resist drifting into dreamland again. Until it hits you—you’re going to be late! As they throw on their clothes, most employees’ minds race for justifications. Lost car keys? Flat tire? Fluid leaks? Dead battery? No, bosses have heard them all, and if you give a flimsy excuse, you risk being labeled a liar.
