Stopping and starting WebSphere Application Server
To perform a stop and start of the WebSphere Application Server, perform the
following steps:
cd /opt/WebSphere/AppServer/bin
./stopServer.sh server1
./startServer.sh server1

You can also verify the database connection from a command prompt by
performing the following steps:
1.On the machine where WebSphere Portal is installed, open a command
prompt and change to the directory cd /opt/WebSphere/PortalServer/config.
2.Enter the following command:
