I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Java and Development Tools
The majority of the examples in this book use the Java Programming Language. I could have provided the examples in C#, but I made a conscious decision to use Java instead.
First of all, and sad to say, I think there has been a general abandonment of good design and development practices in the Java community. These days it may be difficult to find a clean, explicit domain model in most Java-based projects. It seems to me that Scrum and other agile techniques are being used as substitutes for careful modeling, where a product backlog is thrust at developers as if it serves as a set of designs.
