IoT security has received attention from various governments. A bipartisan bill (S.1691 – Internet of Things IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act of 2017 (https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/1691/text)) was introduced in the Senate on August 1, 2017. The bill's intent is to formalize and regulate the minimal security standards that must be met for internet-connected devices to be sold to US federal agencies.
