So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Download and Install Java SE SDK
The first step is to download and install the JDK from Oracle. You can use Java from other sources if you want. However, be sure to select the most recent release that matches your machine. To install Java, follow these steps:
1. Open a web browser and navigate to the site www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/index.html. Find the area titled Java SE Downloads. You may have to click the download tab. Select the Java Platform (JDK) button.
2. On the page that opens, locate the section titled Java SE Development Kit and accept the license agreement. Select the version that best matches the machine you will be installing on.
