Recently a number of geo-political events including the United Kingdom leaving the European Union (‘Brexit’), the global Covid-19 pandemic and military conflict in Ukraine have led many to question whether globalisation has a future. Supply chain disruptions and supply shortages have become regular occurrences causing severe problems for many companies. Delays in deliveries caused by greatly reduced container shipping capacity and port congestion have further added to the concerns expressed about offshore sourcing and manufacturing.
