Find out what version of Mac OS 9 I’m running?

In the Classic environment, use

Apple System Profiler System Profile panel; look in the System overview section.

See whether Classic is running?

System Preferences Classic Start/Stop; look for a bolded message that says “Classic is not running” or “Classic is running on...(path to Mac OS 9’s System Folder)”

Launch Classic?

System Preferences Classic Start/Stop click on the Start button

Quit Classic?

System Preferences Classic Start/Stop click on the Stop button

Restart Classic?

System Preferences Classic Start/Stop click on the Restart button

System Preferences Classic Advanced click on the Restart Classic button

Set a keyboard shortcut for starting and restarting Classic?

System Preferences Classic Advanced Startup Options select “Use Key Combination:” from the pop-up menu and enter a keyboard shortcut (up to five keys) in the text field

Keep the Classic icon in the Dock?

Control-click on the Classic icon while Classic is starting up and select Keep In Dock from its context menu

Start Classic automatically when I start up my computer?

System Preferences Classic Start/Stop select the checkbox next to “Start Classic when you log in”
