Synopsis

softwareupdate [package_ID]

A command-line version of the Software Update application, this checks for and installs Apple software updates. When invoked without arguments, it prints a list of uninstalled updates (if any) to standard output, each labeled with a numeric ID.

Option

package_ID: The numeric ID of a software update package to install.
