hdid -help
hdid image_file [options]

Loads disk images, attaches them to device nodes (files in /dev), and signals Disk Arbitration to mount them into the directory hierarchy.

Option

hdid: A synonym for hdiutil -attach, and takes the same set of options and arguments. See the hdid manpage for more details.
