Domain Creation and Templates
WebLogic Server domain creation tooling is built on a common configuration framework that is based on the concept of a domain configuration template. A domain configuration template is a JAR archive that contains information about the structure and content of a domain. WebLogic Server is packaged with a default template (WL_HOME/common/templates/domains/wls.jar) that serves as the seed for the creation of generic domains.
