Email is one of the first Internet technologies. Using it from PHP is either very simple or quite complicated, depending on the application. We describe various possibilities here.
Sending emails from a dynamic web application is one of the classic standard tasks. Data from the contact form must somehow be sent to the addressee—that is, the webmaster. If errors occur in the application, an automatically generated email would be very practical. And, of course, newsletters that are sent automatically by the web server are a useful thing.
