XML has established itself as a universal standard for data exchange and as the basis for most common description languages.
Is there a software product today that is not emblazoned with the decorative abbreviation XML in large letters? Apart from the gaming corner, it will probably be difficult to find one. The word processor produces XML, the layout program outputs XML, CMS X and Y and database Z all support Extensible Markup Language.
