Although GD 2 is the standard graphics library in PHP, it is by no means the only solution. We would like to briefly introduce a few others here.

30.3.1 ImageMagick

ImageMagick (www.imagemagick.org) is one of the best-known image processing libraries. It is also frequently used with PHP. It makes sense to use ImageMagick if you need even more functionality in the area of filters and image processing. ImageMagick also offers very good conversion mechanisms.
