It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

As we have seen in the Key Lesson ALL FOR THE ARMS in the IMPLIED NUDE section, a model’s arms look best if they don’t form a line with the camera’s optical axis. In fashion and nude shots, you need a reason to get your model to point his or her elbows outward, whereas in sports situations, this trick is virtually a given. Your model can clasp his wrist with his opposite hand or ball his fists as much as he likes. Don’t forget to take a break periodically so that he doesn’t get red in the face.
