# 022

45-DEGREE ROTATION

image

A pose that is at a 45-degree angle from the camera adds tension and extra energy into a beauty pose. A raised chin gives the pose a “hard” look that indicates arrogance, while a lowered chin produces a softer, more vulnerable look. You can underscore this effect using what you learned in pose #021. In other words, combining a lowered chin with hands that face toward the model’s body makes the pose softer than it would with a lowered chin alone. In this case, it is essential that the eye farthest from the camera is still clearly visible.
