Whether your model is simply standing or leaning on some kind of backdrop, you need to take the same systematic approach to the shoot. Begin by choosing the side you want to photograph, and then get him into position. In this example, he is standing with his back to the wall. Once you decide how to position his legs, you can try out some variations with his arms. Note which poses—from the side, head-on, and so on—work best for the job at hand.
