Figure 2–11 is a very complex but accurate representation of the process flow within NetBackup. It is
important to understand that there is a large number of processes that run as a result of adding
functionally, such as that provided by a Media Server. The more processes required, the more CPU and
RAM are required on the particular server to ensure that the function runs efficiently. It also illustrates
why all NetBackup functions can run on a single server, but in doing so, that server quickly becomes
