of the disk drive will drop in relation to the amount of excess IOPS that are attempted to be requested.
Because IOPS are independent of the size of the disk, if the performance requirements of a particular
backup or set of backups exceed the maximum IOPS of the RAID group or disk set, the backup will
actually decrease in performance. There is actually a practice called short stroking that does this on a
