I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Visualizing the Leap Motion controller data
If you have successfully installed the Leap Motion driver/SDK, we can start the device by following these steps:
- Plug the Leap Motion controller into a USB port; you can plug it into USB 3.0, but 2.0 is fine too.
- Open Terminal and execute the dmesg command to verify that the device is properly detected on Ubuntu:
$ dmesg
It will give you the following result if it's detected properly:

If you see this message, you're ready to start the Leap Motion controller manager.
