Testing
Testing will begin at some point in the production cycle, usually around alpha release. At this point in development, several elements in the game need to be checked for defects and crash bugs. Testing is an integral part of game development, so it is important that you do not shortchange the testing schedule as the production phase comes to a close.
The QA testers provide a valuable service throughout the production cycle, and the lead QA tester must be included in all level decisions about the game. After testing begins, time is spent checking for defects and then making sure they are corrected before the game ships. This section of the text presents key information about the testing phase.
