It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Load balancing
IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Space Management uses load balancing by
using several nodes managing different file systems at the same time.
Cluster support with failover for HACMP™ and GPFS clusters
You can add space management to the following clustered operating systems:
General Parallel File System (GPFS) 1.5 on a PSSP cluster (RS6000/SP) or
on an AIX cluster (IBM Regatta pSeries® 690). Both cluster systems require
AIX 5L Version 5.1 and PSSP Version 3.4.
GPFS 2.2 or higher on an IBM ^ Cluster 1350 with CSM 1.3 (Cluster
Systems Management).
