3.3.2 Filesets and the global namespace
A key concept for SAN File System is the global namespace. Traditional file
systems and file sharing systems operate separate namespaces, that is, each
file is tied or mapped to the server which hosts it, and the clients must know
which server this is. For example, in Figure 3-23, in a LAN File System, user Iva
has files stored both on File Server A and File Server B. She would need to
specify the particular File Server in the access path for each file.
