Figuring Out Why It Will Not Connect
Earlier in this chapter we talked about the steps that a wireless NIC and wireless router go through to connect to each other, and also what can go wrong. Here is the secret to figuring out where the trouble is: follow the connection steps and find out which step is not occurring correctly. This seems simple, but we have seen many people trying random remedies. Eventually they may get it, mainly by accident, but sometimes they walk away frustrated. Trust us, and we may save you a lot of time and frustration with the methodical approach we have put together here.
