So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chained microservice design pattern
This is for producing a single consolidated response to a request. In this case, the request from the client is received by Service A, which is then communicating with Service B, which in turn may be communicating with Service C. All the services are likely using a synchronous HTTP request/response message. The key concern here is that the client is blocked until all the services in the chain finish the processing. That is, the chain of Service A to Service B and then Service B to Service C gets completed. The chain has to be short and small, otherwise, the synchronous communication may lead to a delay.
