It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Introduction
Approaches to learning and development are the overall ways in which learning and development takes place, for example through formal or informal learning, rather than specific techniques such as coaching or instruction as dealt with in Chapter 13. The approaches described in this chapter are concerned with:
recognizing the importance of the distinction between formal and informal learning;
the concept of learning in-the-flow of work and its significance;
making the best use of the various methods available in combination – blended learning;
appreciating that learning is or should be happening all the time, it does not simply consist of one-off training courses – continuous learning;
