Introduction
Training is the process of ensuring through instruction that people have the knowledge, skills and abilities required to carry out their work effectively. It can take place ‘off-the-job’ as a formal face-to-face training event or intervention. It can also take place less formally ‘on-the-job’ whenever someone is given instructions on how to do the work. Increasingly, training is being provided online.
