5.3. Improving EIGRP Operations
EIGRP has a few features available that can make its operation more efficient and secure in your network. One of the first things I want to cover is the ability to change the EIGRP metric calculation to fine-tune the paths that data takes across the network. You will see that it can be quite a challenge, though, to modify the metric; so caution must be used to not make any change that isn't well planned out and implemented uniformly.
