It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

This chapter just scratched the surface of the world that is IP-based voice. It covered a good number of basic voice concepts. I hope this gets you going and makes you want to learn more.
I started out talking about the benefits of combining your voice and data networks. Next, I took you through the most common voice devices you will see on a network. I started with a phone and video end point and moved through the components, all the way to the device that controls them—the call agent.
