I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
How I Met My Mentor
When I started my coaching practice, I immediately began looking for mentors who were also professional coaches. I met Sydney Rice Harrild, whom I mentioned in Chapter One, shortly after Success on Our Own Terms was published. I was presenting at a women’s business conference at which women business owners were given space to display their products and promotional material. Sydney ended up with an undesirable spot in the back of the room that received little traffic. Undaunted, she picked up her brochures and moved to a highly visible spot in the hallway. As women passed her, she greeted them warmly and handed them her well-designed brochure. I was struck by her demeanor and her material, and thought she might be a good person ...
