I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

- A Practical Guide to Usability Testing, By Joseph Dumas and Janice Redish (Intellect, Ltd, 1999).
This book is an excellent guide to usability testing with a wealth of practical information. It focuses on formal usability testing methods with laboratory settings and multiple experimenters.
- Usability Engineering, by Jakob Nielsen (Morgan Kaufmann, 1993).
Traditionally usability tests are done in a controlled laboratory by trained psychologist. This is intimidating to many designers and developers. Nielsen advocates discount usability engineering approaches, also called "guerrilla" methods. He proposes simplified "think aloud" tests with a small number of users.
